| Re: Passing Off a QA50 as a Z50???
That thing makes your bike look a little more factory-approved, doesn't it? The leading-link/Earles front end and red plastic Z50R rear fender are interesting. Looks like an open headpipe and some other seat, too...maybe a CT replacement seat? I can't remember if I just saw round-hole 8" Z50 wheels--I think I did--or the tiny little 6" QA wheels. Maybe the guy just isn't up on Honda minibike knowledge, and lacks the wherewithall to look at the model number on the frame before making the ad. Dumber things have happened. It's a pretty dumb scam, if that's what it is. |

I dont think that the guy knows what it is. I think he just put what he thinks it is in the add. I dont think its a scam. Just trying to sell something he knows nothing about. |

You're probably right, plus $225 isn't too high for a running Z or QA. That thing would probably be worth $225, or close to it, to a QA nerd just as a parts bike, especially if the motor and trans were good.

| Re: Passing Off a QA50 as a Z50???
Truth be told, I have an unresolved desire to own, or at least ride, a QA50 someday. I wanted one of those things so bad when I was little; I even memorized the whole model name. I bet my parents got a lot of headaches listening to their 6-7 year old kid saying QA50K3 this and QA50K3 that all the time. I know a guy who has two early QAs, but they're shelf display pieces that never get taken down and started. No matter how much I bug him about it. Maybe he's afraid to let 250 lb. enthusiasts trash their trannies...? |

Get that desire satisfied. I remember that ever since I saw the Ducati 916, I always wanted one. As soon as I got the funds together, I bought a Ducati 998. Always gives me a big smile when I see it in the garage. Bought and sold a dozen other sportbikes since, but always kept my Ducati and Honda Hawk GTs (now down to 3 Hawk GTs). So do it | |

Got a couple of little Hondas that need my attention (and my forseeable motorcycle budget for the next year or so) first, but I like the sentiment. Man, three Hawk GTs? |
