| piston to cyl. clearance for cylinder bore
Just wondering what clearance specs to use to bore out my 79z50's cylinder for an over sized piston? The ones that in the manual for stock cylinder ID to piston OD?

We use .0015. Option: DrATV has a 49cc marked 85cc kit with jug, piston, rings, and gaskets for $110, not much more than parts and a bore job

ya i seen that....where i'm in canada the shipping might kill the deal though but i priced all the parts from honda here in town for like 80 plus taxes. I can do the bore job myself since i'm an apprentice machinist plus my dad has a mill in the shop at home but for the extra power it seems worth it. Would i need a bigger carb inorder to run that 85cc cylinder kit?

a bigger carb may not be a necessity if you are keeping the stock cam, but a slightly larger carb will allow it to fully rev... but i wouldnt go larger than 18 mm, or you could run into throttle response problems.. you may look into getting a stock xr 70 carb...pricey, but hard to beat
