| Please help brake z50 brake lever problem
hi just bought a new throttle and got rid of the stock lever and tried to put an aftermarket one on. Even with it as far as it goes the cable is not long enough to fit the full size lever. So it put a smaller shorter pull bicycle lever on and it works. Do you know anywhere i can get a small made for a 50 brake lever?

terry cable makes a long cable, or buy an Applied lever/perch with the longer cable. they come as a set for like 20 bucks i think. i ran an applied lever/perch with the terry cable for a while til i laid it down at AKT and had to buy a new flanders lever, but it worked fine on my z

one thing should get on mind...when your buying new perch wtih bar holder... if you got a screw-on adjustement there's two size for those screw-on "férule" your got Ø 8mm & 9mm... i've bought motion pro shorty perch with bar holder... they comes with Ø 8mm ans my cable only pass in the Ø 9mm so have to bought new screw-on adjustement. other thing to know... the lead ball{cylinder} at the end of the wire... have more than one size. in a mountain bike shop i've found special fitting used for oversized brake wire & lead ball... kind of clip-on on the lead cylinder. you could even use plastic part of electric connector... works great! so bring with you your cable/perch when you'll buy new cable/perch! |

The Fast50's Throttle w/ perch and shorti lever is the setup. Works perfectly on a Z. That is all I use. No problems, works with the Honda cable or get their +2" cable if you use taller bars. R&D pays off. Tried others but like their stuff. Just my opinion. |
