| Please help with these CT70 Questions
I am looking for a few answers to these questions about a CT70 1. The manufacture date is 5/70 and it is an H model with manual 4 speed, does that mean it is a 1970 or 1971? 2. Where do I find paint codes and paint for the bike? The bike is a dark green color. 3. Are the seats the same for all the years? I have seen some reproduction seats on Ebay and they say they are for all 70s. Thanks for any help. |

Paint the bike any color you want. However, House of Kolor has the closest color to your candy green. Email the guys at CT70Honda.com if you want the correct color paint job. Seats are not the same for all years. If you want the correct seat, you'll want the K0 seat, as they were different from K1 to current. Get a 1969-1970 seat.

Honda only made 1 color of green in 1969-1970. This resto is very close, but not quite the stock color:

I will have to look at the bike but I think it is darker than that, maybe it needs a good washing first and the color will be brighter LOL Can you recommend an inexpensive seat? The cover and foam is pretty tore up on this one with chunks missing. I will try to get it running tomorrow and get some pics, it has compression so it must be spark or carb related. |

I will take some pics tomorrow of the bike. Here is the low down so you guys know what is up with this bike. I own a repair shop here in Michigan. This bike was dropped off today by one of my favorite customers. He is a retired doctor and has a vacation home somewhere near Quebec Canada, this is the second bike that he brought down from there for me to work on, the first was a Honda Cub100 with the pushrod 50 engine and pedals. The Cub sat since 1971 and this bike has not been started or moved since 1975. Both bikes sat behind a furnace and were kept dry and out of the weather. Last year when he brought down the Cub all I did is dissassemble the carb, soak all the parts overnight in carb cleaner, blow out the gas tank, replace the fuel lines, spark plug and she fired right up. Two tires and a brake adjustment later the doctor rode the bike home. This bike is in very good shape frame wise, the odo shows 2800 miles and I kicked it over and the compression felt good enough for it to run. The doctor does not want to fully restore it(although he always tells me "money is no object" on his bikes) He would like the bike to run and look presentable, he still has the old plate and paperwork on it from when it was registered for the street and he plans on reregistering it once the work is done. Getting it running is no problem, I have 50-70 motor parts all over the place at my shop and have built 100s of the old and new Hondas. The areas that I need help are the ones I listed, even though the doctor says money is no object he is conciencous of spending too much on a silly part so he always trusts me to get him a good deal and that is why I came to you guys for help with the seat and I also need a 6 volt headlamp. I deal with Trailbikes so I will contact Mike about some of the parts and I appreciate your guys input. |
