| Point Gap and Timing
Can someone here explain to me or direct me to where I can find out exactly how to set the point gap then set the timing??? I installed new points and set them to just open at the F mark but have NO IDEA how to set the point gap then set the timing without changing the gap. The only adjustment I have ever done was to set the timing....Points to open at the F mark...The points gap?....Who knows?!?! What am I missing??? |

Set the point gap to between .012" and .014" and that will put your timing in the ball park. You fine tune the timing by slightly opening or closing the point gap. A timing light is the quickest and most effective way to check it.
