My Mood: | Point me at a thread, a video, a manual... whatever, that has instructions on doing a simple swap-out of the front & rear sprockets on a Lifan CT70 clone. Please. The first of two new sprockets (the countershaft 17T) has arrived and the rear 34T oughta be in the mailbox tomorrow. Outside, the weather is still wizzing like five frat boys at a beer bust, the LF110GY-3 is still under a tarp, carb adjusted, test run around town & 27 miles on the clock, rarin' to go at the first break in the rain, and I'm keyboarding around trying to capture whatever info on basic tasks I can while the cold rain falls, day after day, and I begin to grow fungus in the groynts and lichens in the pits. Have run the "search" command here and at Planetminitrails, searched YouTube, searched half a doz different ways on Google, downloaded and run through the CT70 Shop Manual, & nothin'. Plenty of thoughts on gearing for different uses, chain adjustment, sprocket wear inspection, chain lubing protocols, etc., etc., but i can't find a "take-this-off, unbolt-that, put-them-back", step-by-step or otherwise, laundry-list directly addressed to taking off and putting on the damned things. The problem when you don't know anything (and i don't know anything) is that, logically enough, you don't know what you don't know. I'm beginning to think that this job must so monkey-simple and straightforward as to be self-evident, no instructions/list of tips/caveats required. That may be. But I would very much prefer to rely on the counsel of someone who knows what they're doing, even if I'm just learning how to put on sox. Does anyone have a link? With most humble thanks for your consideration - rhm |

you cant find any instructions because its pretty straight forward. the easiest way to break the front one loose is to leave the chain on and put it in gear then once they are loose take the chain off. As far as the back one goes take the back wheel off and just use a box-end to hold the back nut and back the screws out.

Gentlemen, thank you. I'll let you know how it works out for me - I'm the guy who puts Ikea furniture together upside down...
