My Mood: | Project #3 on the go.....
Got some flip flop powder today I have 2 1970 Z50A's in pieces this one is going to be the flip flop, polished everything, don't ride it bike. The other will be a rat rod style as the frame isn't in as good of shape. I coated the frame and forks tonight, have to work a dent out of the tank but I'm going to do it the same colour. The colour does flip a little but you can't capture it on a camera, goes from bright green to dark green to a bronze. ![]() ![]() Sorry for the crappy crackberry pics |

I am guessing the powder you are speaking of is for powder coating. where did you get it? what brand? The only powder coater near me (that I know of) only does industrial powder coating. So I think I am gonna have to track down an old oven place it in a shed and do some of my own powder coating.

Yeah it's powder coat, I get alot of my colours from powderbuythepound.ca, garbage day is a great time to find old ovens, or build your own like I did. It's a little pricey to get set up at first $350 for the "not so crappy" gun, around $1000 and hours upon hours to build my oven from scratch, but if you do a few side jobs and it pays for itself.

A couple better pics Flash: ![]() ![]() No Flash: ![]() ![]() I did the tank today, and may need some opinions on the emblems. The emblems are the oval ones and all the paint was removed with a chemical stripper so now all the raised lettering and outside borders are chrome and everything that should be red is a copper kind of colour. I think I should just leave them but I might re paint them back to original. I'll get some pics of that up tomorrow sometime. |

pictureing a copper kind of colour in the emblems seems like it should look realy nice complimenting the bike colour, the red would be too garish against the bike colour.

Here's the tank and emblem pics, I think I'm going to keep them they way they are, looks good and like z50chopper said, the red emblems wouldn't look right with this colour. I'll just clean them up a bit ![]() |
