R&L RAcing exhaust to big for 70cc

While im deciding what to do(Bigger motor or Bore kit) can i install my R&L exhaust on my stock 70cc clone?Or is it ridiculously big for a stock lifan 70cc with an 18mm carb with an airbox?

Re: R&L RAcing exhaust to big for 70cc

It depends on the diameter of the R&L Pipe at the inlet end where it mounts to the exhaust port. Not being familiar (as in: never heard of) with an R&L Pipe, it's hard to say whether or not it is too big for your 70. If it is a pipe made for big bore engines (125cc and above), then it will be pointless to try and use it on your 70, since there would be very little (if any) back pressure to let your smallbore engine operate properly.

Yes it will fit the exhaust port.

I installed one on my 1991 CT70 w/stock carb & aftermarket air filter. Bumped the main jet up to an #82. The R&L pipe comes with a removable cone baffle. Ran the baffle with set-up. Worked excellent. Sounded good and picked up alittle performance.

Ct now runs a 88cc TB kit Race hd./20mm carb/ lightened flywheel. What I did now was drill out the center of the baffle a bit at a time to tune it. Think it is about a 1/2" hole now.

It's an excellent pipe. Good performance. Good quailty. 3 years and no chrome peeling or pitting. Highly recommend it.

I recommend the R&L also... I like that fact that it's rebuildable and cleans up with a little polish... Another nice thing about the pipe is the band that goes around the exhaust pipe makes the pipe easy fitting to most all CRF style engines and CT70s..

I took the easy way out and called AHP and ordered a stage-1 with a lightened flywheel. I figure that would work.Should sound good with the R&L pipe.
