| rebuildor over build ?
got a k2 50cc if i go with a 85 cc cylinder on the rebuild do i also need to get a new head or will reworking the old head be sufficient maybe a mini monster cam ,new seals valves ,and rockers ? how about a carb and exhaust? stock piston 39mm -so if you go to 47mm or 52mm does the larger piston give the engine more power or is it the same because the stroke hasnt changed ? do i need a larger carb and what would that be , what size jets ? what is a good make carb ? need some help guys. thanks

interesting question - don't have any input other than to say I'm watching this thread for the answer I've wondered the same thing for putting a CT70 Jug on a Z50 block and head. |

Depending on the 85cc kit you get it can use the standard 50cc head. I would recommend [and maybe it's necessary] that you get a bigger carb, the standard carbs are tiny. I ported the intake side of my head and took quite a bit of steel off. Used a dremmel for the rough cutting and then polished with paper and scotch brite. You'll get an increase in torque with the larger cylinder and I guess [but don't know] that the power increases as well. dratv.com has a bunch of goodies, check it out. sani ps - hopefully the real experts can fill in the blanks |
