Rewire, or repair the harness?

I picked up a 70 CL70, in decent shape, but the wiring looks a little shaky. I'm an engine guy, and no electromagician. I'll likely be switching to a 12 CDI setup, CRF flywheel and rewound stator so I can see at night.

Better to get new OE type harness, or start from scratch?

Maybe the '91-'94 CT70 12V CDI harness, and, if you have to, extend the wires for the longer frame ?

Build from scratch is a good idea too Terry. Not to difficult. And you know what every wire is then!

the bulbs in the head light are sealed so you can't just witch out to 12v on that.

82-83 Passport harness and electronics are your best bet. Lifan 150 has an outer rotor ignition with a lighting coil. Put the two together with a quick 12v conversion to the existing lights for a bad as setup.
