| Should I put on CT70 wheels?
I have wanted to put CT70 wheels on my 1984 Z50R since I got it and now I found a good deal and was wondering if I should. It would be cool to have bigger wheels and would help in trails and stuff. Would there be any issues with the tires hitting the head or the skid plate? Would they fit into my forks and swingarm without modification? It would also be better because there are more tire choices in 10 inch sizes. So what do you guys think I should do? ![]() Last edited by arlindsay1992; 12-14-2006 at 03:41 PM. im not sure what size the tires are on the ct wheels but i had the 4.80 by 8s on my z with stock forks and swinger and i didnt have any problems with fitment and they are pretty big. if you keep the stock size tire you shouldnt have a problem and as far as mounting them the hubs i believe are the same width. i have seen a couple people run them around me but never really talked to them about it. i guess the easiest way to find out is to buy them and try it. if it doesnt work let me know and ill buy them off of you and use them on something

I don't know exactly what a Dax is. So will the wheels in the pictures above fit into my stock forks and swingarm?

Yeah. There are some nice bikes there. But I still don't know if the wheels will fit.

Personally, i think they aren't going to fit. Your going to need a +1" front fork kit, and atleast a +2cm swinger, especially if you are using knobbies. Try it out, and see what you get!

Yeah they look cool. But I don't know if I could change a tire without a split rim. Bicycle tires are easy but they are a lot larger in diameter.

If anyone is in the market... I may have a set of CT rims for sale... I do have "someone" looking at them, and they would get first shot however...

Well the point arose that the CT70 wheels would not fit in the stock Z50R swingarm. Well what if I used an XR75 swingarm? It would obviously fit the wheel and the correct brake stop would already be installed. So my real question is, would the rear brake stop arm on the swingarm line up with the bolt hole on the rear brake panel of the CT70? So would this... ![]() ...line up with this? |
