So i tried to orginize a group ride on another forum for today and everyone had plans. Determined to get out there and make the best of it i went on solo. Here is the route i did. Google MAPS I had the extra time though cause no one showed up to work out some of the gremlines on my APE. I molikoated my Dryclutch which maked them butter smooth. The Takegawa dry clutch was starting to sound like my Daytona one on my ZB. Its good now. However when i took it apart to do the job i ran into a little glitch when re assembling. The backing plate got stuck up on something when i put the pressure plate back on and when i put the cover and gave the lever a grab there was no clutch action. Oooops, what should have been a 15min job turned into a 45 min job. If your running a dry clutch and are having screaching surges check out Molykote 421. the stuffs amazing. Hope every one had a good day and got out and enjoyed some sunshine. It was beautiful out there. I did have a run in with some Napoleon complex park ranger at one point that came off like a total ass when he told me my bike wasn't street legal. Why is it that they are always so angry. I asked him nicely to pull over and ide be happy to provide him all the documentation. He just growled and drove on. enjoy the pics, sorry they are all from the same angle. |

How do you like the dual stack compared to what you had on there?

So far i have lost 5mph on the top end with it over the old one but the throttle response in the mids is better. Or it coulc just be the 115 getting tired (excuse to get the 145 dohc, lol). I spent a little time in the middle of the ride messing with the AF mixture screw and no improvements. I think I need to change the needle height. Trouble shooting a MJN carb is so different, and it makes me want to weld a AF sensor bung in my pipe. |

Your little teeny 115 is tired. You need the Kitaco DOHC. Dan |

I say swap a CRF150/CRF230 motor into the bike with a high compression piston and call it a day. I'm sure the motor isn't that much bigger than the stock ape50/100 motor. Probably one solid day of fab and the bike will be a blast.
