| Street tire sources
Since I am no longer allowed on any of the trails I used to ride, I am now confined to riding on the street. The tires I have now are not at all meant for paved surfaces so I am looking into some 8 inch road tires. What are your opinions on good tires and what are some sources you guys buy from?

All of the street tires available in the States are either too big or too small looking for the bikes IMO.

I went to the motorcycle-superstore.com or compacc.com and ordered some 8" Kings scooter tires from them that work great. I got the KT-932 for the front and KT-903 on the rear. The rear is a little fatter and taller than the front. If I were to buy them again I would get a matching set, probably the KT-932 for both front and rear.

Unless you are going to be hitting some ungodly speeds, which you won't since you aren't installing a larger displacement engine, the King's tires should serve you quite well. They will likely give you a better top speed over the stockers due to their lower rolling resistance. They are inexpensive and should perform more than adequately for your needs. I would suggest getting a second set of wheels (used off of e-bay or something if you don't already have a set) for the bike, and have one set with the Kings and one set with the knobs so you can easily change over if you decide to do any off road stuff. You only need one set of hubs so it will not be that expensive. The king's tires will be virtually useless on wet grass. |

motorcycle-superstore.com is a great place i lived about 10 mins from there main warehouse a year ago i would go in there alot. They would have a house clean out once a year and have the cheapest prices. I got a 360 dollar pair of alpinestars for about 105. I loved living in oregon cant wait to go back

I bought these a couple months ago and I love them. eBay Motors: HONDA Z50 4.00x8 STREET TIRE & TUBE SET + K0-99 + KT903 (item 180115724940 end time Jun-08-07 23 44 PDT)They are great for the street. They're a 1/2 inch wider and about 1.5-2inches taller in diameter then stock so It geared it up for top speed a little more, great for road riding. They fit fine for me but there was only about a 1/4-1/2 inch of clearance at the swingarm so If your chain is short they might rub. But great tire overall. |

Those tires listed in the E-bay ad are available from motorcycle superstore for $17.99 each plus shipping. The e-bay price seems high.

i am running the kings tire, but mine dont look like the kings tire that are in some of the pictures though ive only slid them out one time, and it was the back tire that came out in a high speed corner, which was turn 9 at adams and matt slid out both tires when doing adams backward going around turn 14, yeah thanks! |
