| Summer projects.
Well now that I lost my Z50, I plan on getting a X4 right before summer starts.. So after I'm done changing that bike up I'm left with a dilemma, lots of money (Well paying summer job) and no build project. So i decided to do two builds: build #1 (1986 Z50 Race bike) I want to make a race Z50. I'm going to put a GPX motor in it along with this frame. (which i plan to just start out with the frame and buy all the parts as i build it) Fast50s.com "The Original xr50 Specialist" - Performance Parts z50 Frame/Swingarm Combo My only question is that I want each build to be of a '86 Z50. Will this frame allow me to use '86 body parts on it? because fast 50's website used to say somewhere that their frame was made for newer Z50 models. Would the parts bolt up? Also, What size rear shocks should i use and what do i do about after market forks? Is getting Crf 50 forks and using a Crf tire my only option? Build #2 ( 1986 Z50 Restore) -I'm going to keep this mainly stock, minus a pipe, filter, bars, carb, and a few other after market goodies. So it'll still be a stocker but also be ridable. What do you guys think? |

Six Hundred Twenty Nine Freaking Dollars?!?!?! I'd be rewelding a used Sano cradle frame or something first. Cool thoughts, though.

You will need to weld on and cut off some brackets for the Fast 50's frame to accept the 79-97 style body parts. That frame is meant to fit 88-99 body parts. There are many forks available, look around.

Road race or dirt ? That frame would work but as already said a little fabbing will be needed for the 80's style tank and seat. 8" or 10" wheels ? Do you want discs ? There's a lot of options but we need to know the bikes sole purpose.
