| TB 117 kit in a 6 volt engine?
Can I use a TB 117 kit in a Honda 6 volt engine (1976), if I run a 12 volt stator and flywheel? Honda Trail Bikes How many hp does the TB 117 deliver? Do you think itīs a good kit? Last edited by 125ss; 11-15-2008 at 01:00 PM. |

I have a tb 117 and i am vary happy with it. I sent the fly wheel out and had is shaved down. That helped big time. Also if you use the 6 volt case the stator bracket and so do not fit 100%. Yes on the 117, you will need to do some work to make the 12 volt fit.

| Re: TB 117 kit in a 6 volt engine? There are some threads on here discussion the abilty to change over a 6v system to a 12v system. Do a seach and you should find what you are lookin for. IN a nutshell, the answer is yes, but you have to mod the cases to make the new electronics fit.

what kind of hp does the 117 kit have and is it easier to get your flywheel shaved down or just get a lighter one?

I am not 100% but lets say low teens. Ya.. you can buy a after market fly wheel kit from e-bay but, that my be to light. It really depends on on your riding. I use my 117 for just around the house with 15/37 gearing, works good for me. I think i had spent just under a 100 with shipping to have my fly wheel changed. Also if you run a VM 26mm carb, i think it is too much use or try a 24mm if you change the your fly wheel.
