I finally found a solution. Nothing I had laying around would fit on this bike. I had a couple diff. carbs, an angled intake, an ATC70 intake, and from all the other posts on here it seemed that the only way was to invert the fuel petcock and raise the rear of the tank which I was not fond of. Anyway, found a 19mm carb at dratv with the choke and the fuel on the same side as stock (the ones with it on the opposide side would hit the exhaust with the straight intake or the petcock was in the way with the angled) and a stock CT70 intake bolted right up without modding anything.....just thought I would share....this is a 72 Z50 by the way....
