| Tips on making old engines look like new?
I'm working on restoring a 1973 XR75. The bodywork is easy but does anyone have tips for making my old engine look new?

"New" is tricky. Media, soda, walnut shell, a little experimenting will let you see which one looks right for you. I use ScotchBrite and WD40 for a nice look.

I have some secrets to making a motor look better than new, but it takes hours to get there. Carb Cleaner, Brass & Steel Wire brush attachments for a dremel in a couple different shapes, wet sand paper, small mothers ball, mothers mag polish, and lots of paper towels. Be super careful if you try using steel wire brush on aluminum, it will tear aluminum up like crazy if you aren't careful. When I get my blast cabinet I will definately give soda a shot.
