trouble unscrewing

i have a 1969 z50 along with 3 spare motors and im having ALOT of trouble unscrewing any of the screws from them (block, head and tranny case screws). a few i end up having do use an old trick my dad thought me to get the screws loose but unfortunately it completely ruins the screw head. any of you have any better tricks to get them loose, im really tired of having to order new screws all the time

i think that would be a little too much horse power for those small screws

You're thinking of an impact gun, which is air operated. dirttrackin280h is referring to a hand-held impact driver, which uses the energy from the hammer to transfer it to the screw, and loosens it.

+1 ..... I purchased one specifically for the case bolts/screws at Harbor Freight - cheap and works perfectly.

A full set of TB polished allen-heads is $15, and work great unless you're doing a resto. A couple bucks more for the other odd fasteners, and you can have a spiffy-looking mill.
