Can you run a tube on tubeless tires? Im looking for a low cost tire for my CT70. Any recommendations? Whats your opinion on the street tire dr atv sells?

Re: Tubeless tires

Newbie to CT70 (actually it's a CT70 clone) and want to run tubeless tires (without tubes) in the bolt together rims. Is this possible? Will air leak out the seam between the two parts of the rim? Can I seal the seam if needed? I would like to avoid tubes if possible.
Also in my Clymer CT70 repair manual it show that the wheel is taken apart (unbolted) to replace the tire. Is this necessary?
Thanks

Not a good idea to go tubless on a tube type rim. You might get it to hold air but its a catastrophe waiting to happen. Put a little too much side load and the bead could drop inward sending you on your arse. Tube in tubeless yes...Tubless on the wrong rim, bad.

You can run the tubeless tire but you still need to use a tube. I did this on my ct and had to take them apart.

Re: Tubeless tires

You could even track down rims that are made for tubeless tires.

I'll take them apart when I swap the tires and keep the tubes.
Thanks,

I think I will keep the stock rims and use tubes.
Thanks,
