AH ok thanks for the info. I wanted to take them out so I could soak the cylinder head in carb cleaner but I think I might just leave them alone now. It might be hard to get them re-seated. Thanks Mike |

Hmm I wounder if I could just leave them in there and soak the head in carb cleaner? Would liquid even get to the seals I am referring to the o-ring that goes under the valve guide Last edited by mikemay; 03-09-2009 at 07:54 PM. |

If the guides did come out, it would likely damage them. And even if not, you'd need to do a valve job, since the guide isn't likely dead-nutz centered.

Nope I never took them out or did a valve job (grinding) so I guess the guides are still centered and ID to 5.5m. All that is left on the head now are Guides and O-rings under the valve guide. It's just a old head I am looking to get rid of carbon and crap off it. I might put a old O-ring in the cleaner and see if it eats it or not
