| Well this is no good.
I was just bored in the garage looking at and insptecting my parts. I had nothing else to do since my new parts haven't arrived yet. So I am looking at the exhaust and I noticed a bend in the header. CRAP! Why it's there? I don't know. But it suckes because it probably drains power. I don't know how long it's been there. Anyway, I think it has something to do with why the exhaust didn't mount easily. I thought something was messed up because Honda parts always have good fit(in my experience). But does anyone have a stock pipe from 1980-1987? I don't need a brand new looking one but one without bends or cracks or holes. I also need all the heat shields because mine are rusted on. So here are the pictures of the damage. ![]() |

put it in a vise and bend it back. Or stick something in there to pop out the dent.

I'll have this pipe for sale in a few days - I'm pretty sure I have the lower heat shields as well. Only has a few miles on it. Yes it is a china part but it is in better shape than virtually anything your gonna find - This pipe is actually honda quailty & fit (can't say the same for everything on that bike) |

well are you the kid asking what else could be wrong with ur bike because it doesnt seem as fast on the flats? If so id say that might be your problem. If you got a medium sided socket extender you might be able to pop it out with that. |

It's only rusty on the header. The shield are nice but the paint got burned off at the header even though I used high temperature paint. I'm considering the knock off exhaust but only if the heat tape comes off. I may be able to repair my pipe. And yes I am worrying about the lack of top end power and if this is the problem, then I just blew a whole bunch of money on new top end parts.

Qwoke, why wouldnt you want the header wrap on the pipe???? It helps make the pipe touchable, and boost performance minimally, by keeping the exhaust hot, it'll flow faster, yada yada yada.

You know me. I like the stock look. I don't like the look of the heat tape anyway. It's looks stupid if you ask me. I know many people will differ but that's my opinion.

I'm begining to realize my obsession is a bit crazy. I still love Honda but I guess sometime I'm going to have to notice genuine parts are crazy expensive and some knock off stuff is good quality.

Because the XR50 fender looks better. And I have to keep it 50cc and if I was going to up the displcement, I'd go with a TB kit.

I would go with a TB kit still. I am never going to completely get rid of my Honda engine. Upgrades and stuff are alright but I don't want a Zongshen. Even if I got it for free I wouldn't use it. I'd sell it even if it was legal. So there.
