What is this?

At first glance I thought this was a normal hardtail but then I noticed the rear fender and headlight bucket...

Looks like a speedo which is what prompted the question. I have a pair of K1 hardtails and this has some differences.

Re: What is this?

Here is a picture of jokerio's note the long seat, speedo, and small wheels that are different than your standard hardtail. If you can buy the bike in your picture diffenetly do.

Re: What is this?

$50. I figure the headlight bucket is worth that even for a normal hardtail.

Thanks for the help...

As that bike sits, it's worth over $1500 easy. To restore that bike will cost a small fortune, but it's an easy flip to fund other projects.

Re: What is this?

i hate it when people who dont know what they are looking at buy it for dirt cheap, when people who really appreciate them cant find them.

i could tell it was a z50m just buy the thumbnail.

Re: What is this?

Well guys, I ended up with this bike The buyer who purchased it from the seller about a week ago for $50, listed it on craiglist this afternoon for $200.
20 min. after the ad was posted, I called him up, and rushed down to his house and now its sitting in my garage. He said he purchased it for a project to fix up and restore, but he realized it was going to be too much for him, so he listed it for sale. He thought it was a regular US model Z50A.

The bike is all complete from what I can see, except for maybe some odds and ends? The muffler is not the original, it is the US model. The parts may be rusty, but everything is pretty much intact.

The bike even had the original registration paper work from 1968 when it was purchased to 1984. Really cool history right there.

The above picture that was posted of the bike didn't show the fuel tank or flywheel cover. I have both of those items that was included with the sale.

I will post some pics of the bike tomorrow in the day light.

Oh yeah.. the bike does run supposively. The seller said he fired it up, then it died. I tried firing it up, couldn't get it to go. BUT, it does have spark. The seller put a newer CRF50 style carb. and filter.

Re: What is this?

Do you have the flywheel cover that comes to a point in the rear? Those are a bugger to find.

Here's some motivation...
