| What to look for in a CL70 or SL70....
So one of these days I would like to start a cl70 or sl70 or s90 or cl90... build (If i can ever finish my ct70 build). I dont know anything about these bikes. What should I look for when buying a project? or should i try and find a complete bike and then trick it out from there? What parts are hard to find? What is the going price(of course it depends on condition)? Any help would be great! I just want to know so I can start to keep my eyes open for a good deal. I plan on building a cafe racer type bike and these 2 pics are insperation for the direction I would like to go in. ![]() |

Really, the only true aftermarket support for these bikes available is the motor. Everything else is going to be a mix-match and fabrication job. If I were you, I'd look for a CL70 of you are going cafe. The SL70 will take major frame modifications and swingarm modifications to work correctly as a cafe. Looking at your pictures, the 90 on the left is really nice, but the only think on there that is original is the forks and the motor. I'd like to sell my CL70 that is in my avatar, fully titled. If interested, let me know. I'll get you some pictures. -and as good as that 90 looks, you wouldn't want to be in the saddle longer than 30 minutes on it. The 90 on the left uses a Benelli 360 tank. Easy to find on Ebay right now. I think they are the perfect Cafe tank.

But how much are these bikes going for? Which parts are hard to find? OR Which parts should be on a bike that I buy because they are imposable to find later(thinking about ZB50 here)? I've been leaning towards the Cl70. A guy near me has 2 Cl90's and a S90 for sale, all for $600. They all need work and are almost complete. No titles. Good deal? I'm really just getting started on this and its still in the early planning stages. The main reason for this thread is to learn a little about these bikes and find out which ones I should pass on or which ones are a deal and should snatch up. | |

If you are doing a cafe racer, you're going to mix and match...that being said, you can find antyhing you want on EBay. Items that will be difficult to find are fenders, wheels, and forks in good condition.
