What is the trick to installing / gluing the RH grip?

1976 Z 50 and after 32 years the stock grips and twist throttle have had it. So I cut off the grip cleaned re-lubed and re-installed the throttle assembly.

Now I need to reinstall the grips and I was wondering what the trick is to not get glue in the throttle assembly.

Thanks in advance

nah just put the glue on the end of the throttle tube...
then quickly slide the grip on
then put a lil right on the inside of the grip...

Get an air hose in the end of the grip when you slide it on. It'll go in a second.

Maybe.......But I remember riding this bike almost 30 years ago and taking a soil sample when the grip came off. (I do not remember exactly which grip came off)

I use WD40. Once the stuff dries, it works like a champ.

Just spray a light coat on the tube, and light coat on the inside of the grip.

Clear spray paint has always worked for me. Something like Krylon Crystal Clear.

A former D17 women's MX champ told me she used hair spray on hers.

Is WD40 a good idea? It's a lube. Does it actually dry up and get sticky? I've never tried it.

I use gas, or hairspray.

WD40 is mostly ether, and ether dissipates completely after a bit of drying time. The other stuff in WD softens the grip just enough to make it stick.

I like grip glue... Just dont put it in the grip before you slide it on...Put it on the throttle tube.

Don't get any on your hands, either. That stuff smells like concentrated ass.

Re: What is the trick to installing / gluing the RH grip?

is there anything that WD40 can't do?

It's like the elixir to life!!!

it's a lube, a cleaner, a rust inhibitor, a sticker remover, a surface protectant, a great flame thrower, a hand cleaner, a water displacer, a polish, and now a glue.....wow!!

Old school......lighter fluid. Slides right on, dries quick. Tight and secure. Safety wire it too.

Alcohol, is what Pro Grip recommended for my last swap, makes it slide on and then evaporates to nothing and the rubber holds the grip
