| What would be required to...
...put a stock CRF50 exhaust onto my '84 Z? I've seen one picture somewhere and it looked clean and if I didn't know anything about bikes I'd say it was original. So what's required because there is a really good deal for a stock one.

All you really need is a small bracket to bolt it to the right upper shock mount, and it probably wouldn't hurt to wrap it with header tape, to prevent searing up your right thigh flesh. You have to run it on the outside of the shock, it will not fit in between the shock and frame, like the stock Z50R stinger tip does.

Here is a picture of one mounted to a '79Z50R that was given to me a few years ago. I did the 12V CDI engine conversion on it, and wanted to run it, to break it in. I just bolted it up to the exhaust port, and used 2 zipties to attach it around the upper shock end. It wasn't pretty, as you can see, but it worked. I still have the bike to this day, but it looks completely different. It now has a Big Gun Exhaust sytem on it. |

Instead of going for an xr50 exhaust, check out some of the aftermarket that dratv has. That shorty is kind of neat.

Well I don't want to pay big bucks for an exhaust. I just want one that isn't bent. I could get a mint CRF50 exhaust for $25 + shipping so that's why I'm wondering. Other than that, I'm going to wait for a good Z50R pipe.
