That's a baited question isn't it!?

Whats the widest tire that will fit on the stock rim and still fit in the stock swingarm on a ct70 frame?

Anyone?

That's safe for high speeds for the stock 2.5" rim or physically fits?

Fits the wheel and will be safe at high speeds with minimal buldge: 110/80/10

Physically fits: 120/90/10 or 120/70/10. Will buldge like a son of a gun, but will fit with very tight chain clearance. I don't consider wide tires on skinny wheels safe.

I ran a 120/70 on my CT with a 3.5" wide rim and had about 1 human hair of chain clearance.

Jim runs a 3.5" in the rear and 2.75" in the front.

The first number in the metric sizing system is tire carcass width, in mm. An inch is 25.4mm, so 4.00 inches is 101.6mm...so a 100 section width and a 10 inch rim.

The middle number is aspect ratio, expressed as a percentage of the section width. A 100/90/10 would be 100mm wide, sidewall-to-sidewall, and 90% of 100mm tall from bead to top of tread (90mm), sized for a 10-inch rim.

not really answering your question but if your thinking of going with a 4" rim for the rear down the road...

Im running a 110 up front on a 3.5 and a 120 in the back on a 4.0 on my chaly. I had to run offset sprockets front and back to get it all to fit.

also keep in mind if your running the DAX type fenders with wide wheels like a 3.5 up front with a 110 you will have to bend out the fender mounts some, otherwise it will rub the tire.

ahhh one other thing to note, about the offset sprockets and the CT/DAX/Chaly.

Im pretty sure they are intended for use with a wide type swingarm. as i had to tweek my swingarm some and add a pretty wide spacer between my hub and swingarm on the sprocket side otherwise my chain would rub on the shock mount. So in other words you can do what i did to make it work or you can get the G-Craft wide swingarm.

Its hard to tell from these pics but the chain has about 6mm clearance to the tire and 2mm clearance to the shock mount on the swingarm.

Oh and for another side bar i found out that a Daytona outer rotor will fit under the stock nice stator cover just fine with out any clearance issues. here is my new nice build underway.

Ok so let me get this down.

you can run a 4.0 with a 130 on a G-Craft wide type swingarm with offset sprockets.

you can run a 4.0 with a 120 on a stock swingarm with a added spacer or a G Craft wide swingam but you will have to run offset sprockets.

you can run a 110 on a 4.0 rim i hear as well with a stock swingarm with out offset sprockets. VMLOPES mentioned this.

you can also run a 120 on a 3.5 with out offset sprockets on a stock swingarm but your chain will be damn close to the tire.

lastly you can also run a 110 on a 3.5 or smaller with the stock swingarm no special sprockets and no clearance issues what so ever.

I run 120/90-10 Front and rear on the Stock CT70 wheels. I get about 1/4" clearance to the chain that way. I think they ride fine and corner quite well. Its not like you'll be dragging a knee with a CT70. Dan is right though...a 110 is probably the best suited. I run this 60mph all day like this and have not had any wobbles or issues.

I will say this...I KNOW athat a 130/90 does not fit as I've tried it. So for a width...120 is as far as you can go.

Do the g-craft wide swing arms actually have a larger opening for the hub? Any idea how wide the hub opening is on a wide z50 swing arm?

Yes outer rotors are setup for lights.
