| Where can I buy the correct tubes?
I've been looking but cannot find the correct tubes/valve stems for my 69 Z50. What I've found are the 90 degree angle metal stems that are located in the center of the tube and vulcanized to the tube without any locking nut. These will work but they aren't correct. Since the exit hole on the wheel rim is offset this causes the tube to be somewhat pinched on the inside. Not a problem for most folks, but since I plan on riding on the street at higher speeds this could cause a safety issue since there is some stress there where it should not be. The original Bridgestone tubes have the stem offset to one side of the tube and have a locking collar with a nut that securely fastens the valve to the wheel rim. Here's a picture of what the valve should look like. I'm after 3.50 X 8 tubes and would appreciate any links... THANKS! |

Have you tried your local Honda dealer ? Honda lists them from Bridgestone right off the microfiche for about $15.

i use the msr heavy duty tubes that my Honda dealer sells for the z. they have an offset 90 degree stem. the only tube ive ever popped on the z was the stock rear. i have since got the hd ones and had no troubles. now changing the tires, thats a different story! |

Still no luck - Honda has them on "backorder" which to me means it ain't gonna' happen. I don't think they exist. All I want for Christmas is two 3.50 X 8 tubes with an offset PV78 stem. The CORRECT replacements. Santa..... don't you have them mounted on your Z 50 sleigh? Last edited by RonKMiller; 12-24-2007 at 07:26 AM. |

I sold a '71 last week, and noticed that it had OEM locknut tubes front and rear. I didn't see them until I was sitting in a parking lot waiting to meet the buyer. If I'd seen them sooner, I would have snagged them for you. |

If you can't locate the proper parts, you can snag a couple of these valve stem supports off your neighbor's Porsche: | |
