| This is why Grey Market Bikes are a bad idea
Thanks to Todd for pointing out this link. This is why people shouldn't try to import in Grey Market bikes into the USA.. Click on Link: eBay Motors: Honda : Z 50J (item 150191302839 end time Dec-10-07 16:38:06 PST) This guy is hosed and probably will be fined, and has to sell his bikes at a huge loss to get rid of them due to the EPA and probably DOT sticking it to him. On top of this, his description is wrong as those aren't 50th anniversary Monkeybikes, but rather 2006 Chrome Specials. It amazes me how uninformed some of these people are and how easy it is to get caught trying to sneak grey market bikes into the country. Ugh.. |

Probally would have been a whole lot easier to sneak them in before 9/11

Sorry if it's a dumb question but can't you import them in pieces?

I contacted the seller right when it hit ebay. Asking how much he wanted for the used motard, this was his response: wil be fob japan or santiago de chile around $ 2100 this makes me think hes just trying to scam. I was going to post somthing about this but I knew somone would and then I could comment |

Was it ever confirmed or not if the XR50/XR100 motards use the same wheels as NSR50s?

i saw the auction as well. why would some one bid on this if he can't even ship to the united states. i'm leaning more towards scam than a uninformed buyer.

| Re: This is why Grey Market Bikes are a bad idea Hrmm... those forks might work better for guys doing an NSR50 wheel swap and hoping to actually jump the bike... The 30mm units are beefy enough, but are limited by their short damping rods.

And what else is you can actually get around the whole epa thing buy just swapping the frame over to the US crf100 frame with paperwork, for the motards that is.

The EPA only cares about emissions dealing with the engine, and has nothing to do with the frame vin. The DOT and NHTSA care about non conforming lighting, turn signals, and the fact they don't want small displacement motorcycles on the streets unless it's a scooter. | |

Like flood the shores by the boat load, slaughter the indigenous people, and claim we "discovered" it?
