| wireing ??
I picked up a lifen 70 engine it is new and has a green, yellow, white, Blue/white and Black/Red i am trying to put it in a 1979 Z50 which does not have the same wires it wont start can anyone help me get the wires in the right spot so it will run

Did it come with the correct wiring/CDI box and coil ?

the bike has everything that comes stock, it ran just last week with the stock 50 engine now with this it does not the new engine only has a black/red, green, white, yellow, blue/white

You need a 12V wiring harness, CDI box, and coil to make your engine run. The '79 Z50 is a 6V points-type ignition and the stock wiring and coil will not work with the 12V engine you have in the bike.

The parts wont interchange between the honda and lifan motor. Youll need to make your own wiring harness or get a wiring harness like the one below and modify it: eBay Motors: Lifan Trail 70 Main Wiring Harness Honda ATC 70 90 110 (item 300286726628 end time Jan-20-09 09:54:57 PST) And youll need a 12v coil. |
