Yosh 125 BBK / XR100 JDM 'Tard Build Thread

The plan is to take a 2006 XR100 and install the Yosh BBK, pipe and carb. The stock motor had only 800 KM's on it and ran like a sewing machine although painfully slow. The following link shows stock HP at 6.5 PS:

Honda Worldwide | February 14, 2005 "Honda Announces the Debut of the XR50 Motard and XR100 Motard Sport Bikes"

The "yosh kit claims" just shy of 18 PS:

YOSHIMURA JAPAN : PRODUCTS : ENGINE : HEAD KIT

I yanked the motor and was pleased to see cross hatching in the jub and a perfect looking piston on the intake side.

(A couple people of asked if the frame is the same as the Ape or us XR. I'm not sure but here's a couple pics):

This is going to be interesting.

Did you dyno the XR100 engine before conversion?

No sorry, but I would not be surprised at all if it was 4 or 5! I'm not at all concerned with what it turns out to be #'s wise as long as it rips enough to be fun and hang on the group rides.

I have seen movies of the the new Yoshi rollerrocker head for the horizontal engines. Yoshimura knows what they are doing.

I'm ready to see this. Have you modded your zb lately or does the xr take your attention?

The XR100 Motard Frame is very close to the XR100 frame for the states, only difference is the rear passenger foot pegs. The Ape frame is different in the subframe area along with most of the mount points for the tank and all the other bits. Just for reference.

Re: Yosh 125 BBK / XR100 JDM 'Tard Build Thread

I thought I was going to have to tap the clutch cover and add AN fittings if I wanted an oil cooler but then I noticed banjo bolts in one of the bags:

Some say he never blinks, and that he roams around the woods at night foraging for wolves...

All we know is, he's called "the Steg."

I never touched the XR until yesterday. I think I'll get the cases split tonight!

Last thing done to the ZB was to send the forks out to RJP. Much better.
