My Mood: | YX 150cc wiring
Does anyone have the wiring diagram for the new Daytona style YX150? I have it up and running, and have 2 left over yellow wires coming from the engine that I thought was my power. Put my meter on it while it was running and zero juice from either. Lifan wiring is diffrent as is the diagrams on Tbolts site. I do see a spark jump from the yellow wires to my meter so there is something going on. is there a ground maybe to the stator I am missing? Not the best at wiring so please excuse my ignorance.

Like I said everything for the cdi and kill switch and coil were easy and it runs, just got to figure out what I need to get my lights. I was running a Moose racing generice rectifier on my Loncin 125 before and it worked great. Am I going to need a rectifier/regulator box for this motor? |

Did you have your meter set to AC volts when you tested it ? A moose regulator if you're only running lights...A reg/rect if you're charging a battery also.

I was using DC. I put the meter on AC volts between the wires and had 36 volts approx. at idle so that mystery is solved. Thanks! So now I T in the moose regulator with one wire that supplies hot to my lights and ground in the other right? |

Wired up, distribution panel in, lights are working! Even got brake lights!! Thanks for the help! FYI to everyone working with a YX like mine, the 2 yellow wires are from the stator, ground one wire other to your reg/rectifier the way they suggest. Mine is T'd in with my Moose regulator then to a fused distribution block. I'm ready for he road almost! This outer rotor seems to keep the lights brighter than the old standard loncin lighting coil! |

I know its an old thread but I have the same motor and was wondering how you wired the rotor to charge the battery? Did you T off the yellow wire from the stator and run one to the green wire on the reg/rec and the other to the yellow on the reg/rec?

I dont run a battery. I took one yellow wire to ground and the other is feeding the fuse block with a Moose Racing rectifier t-ed in to it prior to the fuse block.
