Z abuse

took the Zs camping over the weekend, and i have to say i can not believe the abuse these bikes handled. We rode them harder then i ever have. the guys on the big ATVs couldn't keep up with me on the trails except when we were going up hill. The only issues i came across was a big rock bent my lower chain guard, but i just bent it back. And then i tried to cross some water that was too deep and it died on me. I pulled the plug, got the water out and she fired right back up.

Re: Z abuse

To this day, the best running bike I ever had was a 1971 STOCK CT70. It was faster and more dependable than all my buddies bikes. However, you needed a kidney belt because the suspension sucked. I took it on a 100 mile grueling all day ride in mud, water, rocks, and coal dust and the only issue was that it ran out of gas once and I had to push it. A stock honda motor is basically indesructible.

Try mounting up a VM20 carb on one...

Re: Z abuse

Oh i forgot to mention that my z50r has a bone stock motor.

The CT70s look heavy to me, though i have never ridden one. are they?

Re: Z abuse

Much heavier than a Z50. Ct70 are great trail bikes. Just a nice transport for a cruise through the woods. Had a 1970 Ct70 as a kid. Z50's are much more fun. Just something about them.

Honda made one over engineered motor when they did those. They will stand up to some cruel treatment. Amazing motors and bikes.

Re: Z abuse

The HONDA motors, 50-125cc ,when left in stock form are all bullet proof. I still ride a 1972 honda cb125 and it must have 25k on the clock...a very hard 25k since we had it since it had 800 on it. My atc125m motor in my CT70 has 2600 on it and its just getting broken in.
