Z50 fitment questions

Does anyone know if the front and rear hubs are the same on a 1986 z50 and a 1999 z50?
Are the rims the same also except for the color?
Are the carbs from the 86 the came on the 99?

The hubs are different. The rim bolts to the hub so you need the correct wheels. 1986 carbs are different.

tmas said it all. But the wheels/rims are the same. Carbs are different but you can still use the 99 carb on the 86 and vice versa.

The 86 hubs, I believe, actually use a 4 bolt hub, while the 99 wheels use a three bolt hub

The earlier style 4 bolt rims:

And the later style 3 bolt rims:

YOu can't interchange the hubs, but if you have the later wheel and hub, complete, you can interchange with an earlier wheel and hub, complete. You need the braking parts too, as they are different.

The 86 hub is a 3 bolt. Are all 3 bolt hubs the same? are all 3 bolt rims the same?

Re: Z50 fitment questions

1979 Z50R was the last year of the 4-bolt hub pattern. 1980-99' were 3 bolt.

1986 Z50R hubs will work on a newer 99' rim. Vice versa.

Re: Z50 fitment questions

Yes. The hubs will interchange. Post #8 is correct. Do note that the 80-85 wheels are silver, 86-87 wheels are gold, and 88-99 wheels are white. Same goes for hubs. Carbs will physically bolt up and work the same but the newer one is updated with a metal insert in the threads so it doesn't strip out like butter. The earlier carbs strip so easily I just drill them out and use a nut on the back.
