z50 listing on ebay removed for intellectual property rights

I listed my 50 on ebay after 2 days my auction was taken down and they sent me the email below i dont get why they removed it i see hondas all the time on ebay and have sold them in the past with clone motors in them

You recently listed the following auction-style listing
- 1970 Honda Minitrail Z50 z 50 L@@K

The listing was removed because it violated eBay policy. We notified members who placed bids on the item that the listing has been canceled.

because American Honda Motor Co. Inc. reported it to us for violating their intellectual property rights. When eBay is notified by a rights owner of an intellectual property rights infringement, eBay must remove the item in order to meet certain legal requirements.

It's against the law to sell fake or unauthorized copies of a brand-name product. It can also be misleading for buyers. So if the product you're selling bears the brand name or logo of a company, but it wasn't made or authorized by that company, you aren't allowed to list it on eBay.

Did your China engine have Honda covers on it?

That is bizarre? How are you supposed to sell a used bike, are they saying its not a Honda?

what they are saying is that if it is a knock-off you cant use "Honda" in the title for it or what you call it in the listing. just list a replica Z50 and i think you may be ok there. no 100% though...
contact someone to see exactly what was wrong with your listing.

That's a good thing. I'm tired of going through pages of knockoff junk when I'm looking for "REAL" Honda parts. If it's not a real Honda part it shouldn't be tagged as such.

I don't report auctions as I don't care enough to waste the time.

However, it's probably another Ebay user reporting auctions for "replica" items sold under the Honda banner.

That would be my guess too, Honda doesn't aggressively pursue these kinds of things as much as you'd think they would. Maybe they're just beaten and tired from all of the years of trying to protect their brand.

Honda does pursue intellectual property rights. Don't kid yourself. I know a number of people who were selling copies of repair manuals, old ads, tank decals, etc that got shut down hard.

How silly. Tell Honda to make our damn tank decals and we will be all set.

Re: z50 listing on ebay removed for intellectual property rights

I listed it as a honda minitrail z50 which it is dosent matter what motors in the bike its still a honda bike, when you swap a sbc into a fox body stang it dosent make the car no longer a mustang just a ford powered by a chevy.

Re: z50 listing on ebay removed for intellectual property rights

Ebay couldn't be more ghey!! They pulled my z50 auction on day 7 for not listing in the right category. I was pissed. Ebay blows as hard as they can!! What was even more retarded was the fact that I used 1 of the categories that they suggested. The right cat wasn't even in their list of suggested cats. Like I said ebay is retreaded.
