z50 motor choice help

hi all i plan on building a z50 for the road and was thinking that a stock 50 motor wont to do it for me so i will need to either do up the 50 motor or put in another motor just wondering what peoples thoughts were on what i should run

I've got two 88's with 16t/34t for the street that run great. Also a Z50 with a Lifan 110 4-spd. man. w/ the 114 kit 16t/32t from TB on it. Also runs well.

Is that a 6V Z50 engine with an 88cc kit? What's the top speed like?

Find a used 12V CRF 50 motor that has some tuning parts invested in it and go from there. Ive seen some 108s with clutches go for next to nothing. all they need to convert to road use is a stator thats setup to run a lighting system.

No, CRF50 motor w/ light. coil. Top speed with me 6'2" 225 is about 52mph.

Re: z50 motor choice help

i was looking at a tb88cc bore kit with race head but it says that you have to run an after market throttle i was wondering if anyone has installed the 88 bore kit and still been able to run the standard throttle

I'd luv to get one for next to nothing or even $150 or more. Got any leads?

That's pretty good man. 53MPH is probably max for 8" rims and drum brakes.
