good day to all!
i just got my bike started after years of being broken (broke when i was a kid and no one could figure out the problem...stupid key switch) and it won't run with the lights on. could it be the key switch again or perhaps a battery or stator problem?? is there a way to "rebuild" the key switch as i'd like to keep the bike as original as possible. thanks in advance

is this a k1? if it runs with the lights off then that tells me there is prob a prob with the switch

If it is a 6V point ignition and it runs without the lights on, change the condensator.

yup it is a k1! is there anything i can do to fix the key switch? and if it is the condenser, wouldn't it prevent my bike from running? how could i check to distinguish between the two??

if the battery is bad, would that affect it or should the stator provide enough power for the lights?

if your condenser was bad you would have little to no spark. The lights should still run without the battery. Have you tried another light switch? Not a key switch but a dimmer switch. Try bypassing the switch and use some jumpers to see if the bike will run that way.
