| z50k2 engine options
I have finally finished pretty much everything except for the engine. My plan is to run a manual transmission engine and would like some insight. I don't want to spend to much and am thinking somewhere between a 90cc-125cc in a chinese flavor. This is a rat ride type bike that I would like to use to tool around the neighborhood and maybe ride about 6 miles to work on very rare occasions and fawk with the motorcycle guys at work. Thanks, Mike |

Lifan 125 can be had cheaply enough, is nearly a direct bolt on (some carb clearance issues with softtail, easily overcome) has scads of power and usually comes with a lighting coil. It appears to be the same dimension as the Z50 (I know for a fact the top end is) there may be some differences in the bottom end. I've just bolted mine in, a little electrical, some plumbing and I'll be part of the 50mph club... |

Thanks loudfastugly, I have a hardtail and have heard they fit well. I was looking on ebay but the Lifan's I have seen look different (painted all black) which I don't know if it makes a difference. Where did you pick up yours? Mike |
