If you are looking at the one on craigslist, it's overpriced, has the wrong seat, wrong tires and isn't original in the least. Overpriced comes to mind. A fully restored Z50M can sell for upwards of $5k, and if it's missing parts or some of the parts are incorrect, it's going to be a long and very expensive road to find them. Very few original parts left to go around and 99% of those parts will be overseas in Europe and Japan. |

Todd, I paid $1500 for a complete junker Z50M back in 2002-2003. Probably over $2,000 for a junker to the right buyer. If it's missing some of the key parts and you want a 100 point resto, pass unless you are a sucker for punishment. The most expensive parts are the clamshell, seat, seat hinges, correct exhaust, fenders, the wheels are the same as the QA50, but the brake backing plates are unique to the Z50M and most cracked, The rear brake mechanism is hard to find, headlamp buckets run about $125, the rear taillamp brackets are expensive, and you'll never find an original set of the 5" dunlops. The list goes an and on, and when you finish it, they are worthless to ride, but make a great Christmas Tree ornament.. |

I am looking into one right now... And a few weeks ago I was at my friends shop...he builds old hot rods...rat rods...etc. He has a qa50 that he played with for a bit. I remember a year or so ago he was telling me about the tires...He has a few sets of NOS original tires that he came accross. This guy knows ZERO about any of this stuff. So maybe I will look into those tires if they are the ones you mentioned. Z can you e mail me...I will send you pictures and the info I have on the M I came accross. |

| Re: z50m ?
maybe someone here can help me? If someone here own a z50m, could you tell me the wiring from the motor (ignition and lightcoil) has four cables black, red, grey/green and bleu. And the conection is the same as one from a z50a k1,2. I got a inginition coil tru ebay, but its not the one on the picture. Guy sais the partnr. is 31631-045-671, so it belongs to a z50m. But i didn't got it in the original package, so no proove. Im restaurating a z50a k1, so i acctually dont need the parts, but if it belongs to a z50m, i think i will keep it. its a new one. I hope someone can tell me, thank you anyway. Regards |
