Goddamit! How am I supposed to negotiate price when the whole world knows about it NOT! P.S. The pics will be a nice addition to my collection. |

I saw a kit beating the ever living hell out of one of these at vintage days last year. The tank was all mangled up, the frame gouged to hell. Had bald tires on it and the rims were all rusty. The bars were bent and the exhaust was all scraped up. The engine was all caked up with mud. He had a paper plate with $500 taped to it. |

They are not rare, but rather rare to find in pristine condition and parts getting really hard to find. Honda chrome is the pits (pun intended). They are a cool bike, but a pair of crated ZB's were for sale in the last 6 months for $7K. I would put this pair at no more then that amount. However, in the collector community, all bets are off when it comes to bikes in the original cardboard, or in wood crates back in the day. |

Look at all the bikes he has in the last couple pictures. I'm sure everybody here is jealous of that colection. I can't see why anybody would sell this though. It's so nice, if I had it and I paid it off in '86, I wouldn't sell it. It's just so damn cool. I could have one in my living room and one in my bedroom. And who could resist the temptation for 22 years? You bought it new. You paid that money. And you NEVER take it out of the box? For 22 years you never touch it. Wow. That takes some real control... or a straight jacket. |

I don't know about a grown man having that many little bikes - a midget or dwarf, OK maybe.

The sad thing is that if you pay $10k for that crate you'd just have a crate that you could never touch. If you were to ever uncrate the bikes they'd lose at least 30% of their value instantly. What fun is owning a crate?

None. I'm starting to see a small reason to sell it.

This is just my opinion, as we have collectors here that enjoy dusting off bikes and lining them up for pictures. | |

That collector mentality is quite strong in some people and I totally respect them and their hobbies. But I personally don't have it; I think life is too short to gather possessions that you can only imagine yourself playing with. And ask me again if I ever drop my ZB.

Everything else? I see nothing but Z50's and an XR75 or 80 in the background.

Oh my lord. Bidding is over $13,000 for the pair. I've seen some bikes going for some high prices, but that's plan ridiculous! There's a guy in WI currently selling 2 0 mile ZB50's that he removed from the crate and is still trying to get $7K for the pair. Me thinks he should have left them in the crate. |
