My Mood: | ZB50 triple on a Standard Z50?
I am curious if anyone who has access to both of these, if the steering stem on the ZB50 is the same length as that on the standard Z50 or Z50R? I am working on a custom Z build and need to change out the front end setup. I could use a CT70 top and bottom triple, but the stem is too long. Anyone ever changed out the stem on one of these bikes? Or had a CT70 stem machined down to the dimensions of the Z50? If anyone has any of the above info, it would be truly appreciated. Thanks! |

I know my friends swapped out some ZB forks onto his XR but I'm not sure to what extent he used the ZB parts.....although I'm pretty sure he used the entire setup as after he donated the frame to me and there was nothing left of the front end so iassume he used it

Well - I got the ZB50 front end in the mail and it fits exactly! Looks pretty good on there also. It is a few inches longer in the legs so it will fit the CT70 10" wheels just fine. It seems a bit soft at the moment, but I am going to replace the seals, put in new, probably heavier, oil and maybe even a small spring spacer to stiffen it up. This is going on a new custom build I am attempting. Pics will be fortcoming. |
