4th gear drum cost to install?

What should it cost to install a 4th gear drum? I'm thinking about doing it to get one up on a friend, he is usaully the one to install things like this.

well you have to tear the whole motor down.

depends where you take it to get it done but figure 5 hours labor.

5 hrs? I would say 2-3 hrs labor is what most shops would charge. Fastest I've done it was an 1hr 45min.

As long as you have it apart might as well replace the output shaft and bearings.

yea i charge 3 hours for spliting the cases at 62.50 a hour but 3 to 6 hours is the norm

do it your self buy a torque wrenc an a manual an if you dont got tools get a cheap crafstman sock/wrench set 150 tops an you will have it for next time

but i inspect and clean ALL parts. I take my time doing motors.

I do it way cheaper than that but I dnt wanna push any more buttons on here.... Already got my pm inbox taken away. LOL

Thanks? But Im not trying to make it sound like I'm god. I had to replace an output shaft in between motos.

I take my time and check clearences and check everything over too. Like I said average 2-3 hrs.

Hmm. Sounds like something I would start on Monday night to make sure that by Friday night it was back together.

yea if u split the cases get stroker crank,output shaft, billet second gear,4th gear drum...etc,etc

This can get carried away quick, just like my duramax did. I might have to hold off just to save my wallet. Better to split once and do it nice.

if your going to stay standard bore, I honestly don't see any reason the spend the extra for a billet output shaft. My stocker is an '05 and I've haven't broke it yet. You can stroke it and upgrade to the new style Kawasaki genuine output for around $200 if you're a smart shopper
