can i run any aftermarket head on my motor? i have a 55mm crank, bbr 160 bbk, and stock ported head right now, but wanna do a different head. and what kind of power difference am i goona notice from the stock ported head and a aftermarket head? thanks for any help and answers

You'll likely need to swap pistons of modify valve reliefs to run a different head, but they'll all bolt on. A YX head will add maybe 2-3HP if you have a 26mm carb and decent pipe. A V2 or +R, maybe 4-5 at the top.

My Mood: | Re: aftermarket head?? i have a 26 or 28 mm carb im not positive at the moment. i havent checked it cause my motor is gettin rebuilt. the intake boot says 28vm tho. . so im assuming its a 28mm carb.

A 172 would rip with a v2 head. Make sure you get the one with the newer cam though. Might be a bit hard to find piston though, im sure firepower or pax could get you one though. And you need a set of twin pipes on that beast |
