Seems to me unleSs you have headwork and a good pipe it would drown the motor. I mean I could be wrong but that's just what I think. Justin |

Stock carbs, pipes ect run great on stock engines. I would save it for when you get a big bore..

hmm... well another reasond why i want to use the vm26 is because when i port/polish i can make the intake alot bigger than just using the stock cab/110 intake, which will help on bottom end.. |

I see the crf Takegawa 108 and 117s running the VM26 alot. Its all about the jetting and the correct atomization with the right vacuum. I would add a cam to the list though.

with a little work you can add a YX cam to that stock head and increase its potential alot...YX cams are cheap. $25

Well unless he is putting bigger valve seats and valves he is blow'n smoke up your a$$... And as far as cams being 150-300 for a stock head? If your engine builder was good he would be able mod the head to fit a $50 Yx cam.... But then again who am I? |

Just a few questions for you and your engine "porter". What size valves are you using? What exhaust? Lightened flywheel or IRK? Valve springs? If you are doing any/all of the above and not replacing the cam, you are wasting time and $$$. The cam will make a bigger difference than the porting, the flywheel and carb combined. It's not a matter of doing one thing, it's using a combination of items to help the engine breath "in and out" which the cam is a BIG part of. Just my .02 Dan |
