| couple 110 tech questions
just bought a pretty much new 110 and am turning it into a stock mod, had a couple questions... FORKS im putting the bbr dampening rods and heavy fork springs in.. what oil level do you guys recomend? I saw the stock level is 90mm but what about with this stuff in the forks? Also i have heard some remarks of the heavy fork springs being a bit rigid.. should i run one heavy and one stock or what is your input on this? MOTOR How many cc's of oil do you run in the motor? Also what valve clearance is ran on a stock motor? |

How much do you weigh and how aggressive are you?? Sometimes damping rods and both HD springs are too much.

That helps....... So 170lb and fast = both HD springs and 180cc of 30wt per leg.

My Mood: | Re: couple 110 tech questions i would do the bbr dampening rods, 1 bbr stiff spring, 1 stock, use 10wt silkolene and fill each fork leg 90mm from the top (3.5in) when the fork is compressed and the spring out

I've recently searched all the threads on this site, and the consensus seems to be that the damping rods, thick oil and both HD springs are *REALLY* stiff, even for a 170 - 190lbs rider. The recommendation is to install 1 spring first with 20wt oil, see how that feels, if still too soft, put in 2nd spring, and then tune oil (heavier/lighter) from there. disclaimer: I have not ridden any of these combos myself and am only passing along collective wisdom. |

I run one hd bbr spring. 10 wt. And tbr damping rods. I'm 180 lbs and beat the $hit out of my bike. I recently changed to modded tbr rods tbr mild springs and 10wt with. Racetech emulators. Which I like 100 percent better. I changed the loction of the suggested holes for the damping rods

My Mood: | Re: couple 110 tech questions I have never heard a volume of oil suggested for damping rods, but 180cc sounds right. Race Tech once had a chart that said the stock 110 forks took 150cc of oil each, but it was taken down

Use this method it worked a treat for me and mine were proper rusted in there. Find which socket sizes are the best and i beleive mine were a 20mm and a 27mm and push and pull the bushing out no probs. |
