My Mood: | Engine dilemma
Right i have sold my 50 124+r engine and now want to stick the money from the previous engine into the klx engine that i have now. Im leaning towards the Takegawa 138 superhead kit with a vm26 Carb im not after competing so i reckon this engine will give me enough power for general riding and also messing around on the tarmac im also going to change the output shaft for a 08 kwak one and do the shift star at the same time and also put a 4 speed drum. Im also wanting to put a takegawa manual clutch on but im wondering when i fit this should i also buy the takegawa clutch plate system as well or will the stock clutch hold up to the 138 superhead ok. and should i also change the shift forks as well as i heard they can become worn and snap off... |

You'll be very happy with the 138 superhead and the stock clutch will hold up fine for you.Throw some heavy springs in it and you'll be good.

While you have it apart you might look into the CHP billet 2nd gear. If you do that and all of the other stuff you are talking about I wouldnt see any reason to ever need to split the cases agian, short of maybe a stroker crank.

Yea, I think it is kinda a common problem. I dont know if it happens to a lower hp motor or if it is just the higher hp ones. I have a stroked 138+R and it took 3 teeth off of 2nd gear. It started making a clicking noise while only in 2nd gr.
