Re: marzocchi question??

Make sure the races are fully seated. take the weight off the front end and tighten the nut. Make sure there is no binding when you turn.

Re: marzocchi question??

you still have the original ball bearing race on the stem.. you need to remove the tapered looking part thats still on the lower stem..

normal setups go like this bottom of stem to top

first part must be sitting tight against the machined flat area around the stem on the top side of the lower triple clamp

first is a metal washer with rubber coating around it (its a seal for lower bearing to keep dirt out.. not all setups use them..
second is inner timken bearing
third lower outer bearing race
fourth on top of head tube top outer bearing race
fifth top bearing
sixth another metal washer with rubber seal around edges (not always used)
seventh stem nut that use spanner type wrench adjustments
eighth top triple clamp
and finish it off with washer and top nut (sometimes only a nut)
