what is the best way to go about this?

Yeah Brett,

You can do lots of coats of paint and clear but it has a shelf life man.

PC will last longer and will probably give you a better quality of color

or have it blasted and hard coated, like the light grey color of the engine case. that deal can't be wrecked and is tough as nails.

take it to a shop that hass a sand blaster or beed blaster they will do it for like 30 bucks maybe free..

Or if you want polish look you can go to wal mart or auto zone and get paint stripper? forget what its called but its strpnge stuff you spray and it eats your paint off..

the stripping stuff is called aircraft remover I believe...pretty good looking when it's done! Not nearly as good as pc but it's cheap!
