Just started building up the ttr 90 with the part's that i've been collecting this past few week's.The fork's are KX 65 35mm shiver's with a rm 65 front wheel's and rm 65 front brake set up,the seat is a gut's racing one and the swing arm is a +5 down components klx 110/crf 70 one and the rear wheel is a xr 70 wheel but this will be changed for a reeg mx rear disc wheel or a faster mini rear disc wheel or a kx 65 rear wheel and i'll be using a reeg mx cable operated rear brake set up or a kx 65 rear brake set up. This is just mocked up to lookin all the little custom bit's i need to make for it to all fit together so is no way near the finished bike but so far it's looking really good....The seat height is 32" from middle of seat to floor and the height from the rear spindle to back mud gaurd is 21" and the front fork travel is 8 and a half inch's the same as my reeg mx crf 70 bike.. theseat height to the peg's is roughly 19 inch's and the handle bar height will be the same as my crf 70 reeg mx bike.... So far i got to make to shim's for the swingarm and a new spacer for the rear wheel so the chain will be true and straight but i havent got a rear shock yet but i will get an 110 elka rear shock or a crf 70 one with remote res then i will know how much i need to move the rear shock mount on the frame... There has'nt been no real problem's except what bottom bearing i need to use on the KX 65 steering tube as the stock ttr 90 one fit's straight on the top of the steering tube and the stock ttr 90 castel nut fit's the kx 65 steering tube aswell but the ttr 90 bearing's dont fit on the bottom of the KX 65 steering tube so what i might have to do is make a new custom bearing race for the bootom and use a ttr 90 top bearing on the bottom aswell, unless there's one out there that will fit from another bike... ![]() The engine shoud be built up next week using a takegawa hyper s stage big bore kit with a two brother's race pipe and a new set of plastic's and graffix's in a few week's....finger's crossed.... If any one can give me help and advice on what steering tube bearing's i need then please let me know and also any other advice i might need to finish this build off....thank's BUZZ Last edited by BUZZ 50s BROTHERHOOD; 02-11-2009 at 10:21 AM. |

I am not digging on how the tall seat looks. I am putting on kx 60 forks and using ttr 125 top and bottom triple clamps like t-rav did on my ttr 90. He had a machine shop make a spacer to use the ttr 90 bearing with the ttr 125 bottom clamp. Thats all I need to get mine setup is a spacer. Over summer my bike will be worked on but its apart right now. Just trying to get my klx 110 done first. If you find out about a bearing from another bike will work let me know since I have thought about putting 65 forks on mine since I have some also. Thanks |

the bearings on a kx 65 are the same size top and bottom so i could just get a new custom made bearing cup to fit the ttr 90 head tube and just buy 2 ttr 90 tapered bearing kit's as for a spacer i will just use a 3mm washer and the bearing will sit on that with the rubber seal under the bearing aswell,im going to my freind bike shop in the morning to see what bearing's he got lying around so i will let you know soon as i sort the problem out....as for the forks being on the wrong way i know as im just putting the bike together quickly to see how every thing fit's it first...

just an update on the bearings on the head set... I managed to track down a lower tapered bearing today to make the kx 65 shiver and clamps fit on the ttr 90 with no mods at all....The bearing size for the bottom of the steering tube has to be 25mm steering tube diameter ,48mm out side diameter of the bearing race and 15mm thickness when the bearing is fitted all togeter ,the stock thickness is 13mm so i will use a thinner washer to space it from the bottom of the triple clamp and you can use a stock ttr 90 top bearing aswell on the kx 65 steering tube also on using the crf 70 swingarm i have ordered some bearing's aswell that will reduce the spindle hole size down to the ttr 90 diameter and will still fit the crf 70 swinger ,all i got to do now is get some shim's made or a few washers either side and the frame and it will fit staright on so NO NO NEED TO DRILL THE FRAME TO TAKE THE 110 SWINGARM SPINDLE BOLT.....I've just ordered a 275mm 110 elka fat shock with remote res as these are basically the same fitment as a honda on the bottom of the shock so all i got to do is move the rear shock mount by 20mm-50mm down the frame to keep the bike sitting level i can then tweak the fork height so suit the chassis ....... next thing i will be doing is fitting a reeg mx rear disc conversion on the rear... HOPE THIS WILL HELP ANY ONE WHO WANT'S TO FIT KX 65 FORK'S NOW ON THEIR TTR 90 OR EVEN TTR 110 IF THE HEAD TUBE'S ARE THE SAME SIZE AND INSTEAD OF USING A 110 SWINGER TO USE A HONDA SWINGER WHICH NEED LESS WORK TO FIT.... .....PICS UP SOON AS THE BEARING'S ARRIVE MONDAY NEXT WEEK..... fitted the tapered bearing to the head stock and it all fit's perfect,i did'nt use a spacer at all on the bottom i just used the dust seal and put the tappered bearing straight on top of it,i also used a honda crf 50 top nut aswell as these are the same as the kx 65 thread. The swing arm bearing will be here in the next 2 or 3 day's so i will start fitting that next and i should have the elka shock end of this week or middle of next week then the weldind will start for a new rear shock mount... bad news is my english bull terrier dog has eaten my gut's racing seat so im ordering a new one tonite from power sports store... ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by BUZZ 50s BROTHERHOOD; 04-07-2008 at 10:29 AM. |

Where did you gset the kx 65 tapered bearings from? Also is a stock 65 stem the same as the stem of the 65 shiver one? Also what dust seal did you use on the lower stem when you slide the tapered bearing on? Stock bottom race or did you put in the tapered one? Sorry for all the questions but this is what I will be doing to my bike then if stock 65 forks will work. A step by step instructions would be great along with a list of what ya need. LOL I know that will take too much time for ya though. Thanks |

i got the tapered bearings from a bearing stockists the size for the bearing's i have used are on the earlier post above, the steering tube on my shiver triple clamps is 25mm diameter thick i believe is also a stock steering tube size aswell,i used the new tappered bearing on the bottom aswell and used the stock kx 65 dust seal but you can use the ttr 90 dust seal just turn it upside down and put the bearing on top of that and the stock ttr 90 castel nut and bearing cover fit's the kx 65 steering tube aswell, i'll take some pics later on today.. THE KX 65 MARAZOCHI STEERING TUBE DIAMETER IS 25MM FROM TOP TO BOTTOM.THE TOP OF THE TTR 90 STEERING TUBE IS 25MM THE BOTTOM OF THE TTR 90 STEERING TUBE ON THE STOCK CLAMP IS ALOT BIGGER THAN THE TOP BEARING ON THE TTR 90 STEERING TUBE.... COOL IF YOUR STEERING TUBE DIAMETER IS 25MM TOP TO BOTTOM THEN THE BEARINGS I USED WILL HELP IT FIT STRAIGHT ON WITH NO PROB'S,JUST USE THE DUST SEAL AND NO BOTTOM SPACER ON THE BOTTOM TRIPLE CLAMP AND IT WILL GO TOGETHER LIKE THE FORKS WERE MADE FOR A TTR 90... |

forks all fitted now and put on the pro tapers and sano billett throttle and swing arm fitted today with new bearing so idid'nt have to drill out the frame and make it weaker, also mocked up the mudgaurd to see how it looks it's sitting about 2-3 inches high but doesnt look to bad,i've got a blue klx one on the way and a kx 65 white front number board and a blue pro taper bar pad... The 110 TAKEGAWA hyper S stage big bore kit will be fitted tomorrow and i got a hd sdg rear black rim and a hd silver hub with hd spokes and im waiting for a rear disc brake kit,I've just ordereda early klx 110 gear stick and a new klx 110 elka rear shock which should be here next week and i also need to get a new rear mudgaurd is the one fitted is very used and abused got some fast way pegs for it and on the look out for a nice rear chain guide and chain roller kit..... soon as the brake kit turns up i'll see where i can mount the master cylinder and try and find a rear brake pedal that will work with it amd still waiting for a kx 65 front brake set up to turn up on ebay as the one i got from ebay was the wrong one sent to me... ![]() Soon as the rear shock arrives i'll cut the old mount off and fab a new one a little bit lower than the stock mount as the bike sits about 1 - 2 inches low on the rear end and will ad a little brace to the frame to tie it all together...
