That is a a really nice buck. Lots of us would love to have that trophy on our wall. Never mind the haters. They are just ignorant tree huggers. They know nothing about deer management. |

Damn, I'm 6'2 and 290, clearly trophy material. I hope some dumb sumbitch don't skewer me after my mid-day nap ![]() Nature will control deer population, along with Coyotes, etc. If you're wanting to kill stuff, do it, but don't say you did it a favor... Things taste like crap. Even the best prepared pine-needle eating deer ain't got nothin' on a nice piece sawed off a cows arse. Northern IN had a lot of corn and mild winters. Those deer tasted a lot less like crap.

The Tree Huggers always seem to amazse me. Especially when they are eating there fast food and buying old freezer burnt meat at the market.

Freezer burnt, my hiney! I got a clear shot at this one, just after I took the pic. Dressed out at 740lbs. I had to section it up with the chainsaw before snipping the electric fence and dragging it the 35' to the road.

BTW, I guess I don't see anything wrong with hugging trees, or the whole darn planet for that matter I don't condemn meat-hunting. It's what we are.

Terry I am not looking to start a war over this. Been doing this for the last 20 plus years. There is nothing wrong with management. Yes they have predators that will scoop them up. But they will also die if the food plots are not there in the harsh winters. Plus who the hell dont like fresh venison jerky or even grilled back straps. I am not a real fan of the gamey taste either. But if done right and served without someone knowing that it is venison you would be very surprised when you found out. I want a vid of you dragging all those nipples to the road. Last edited by 35mastr; 10-28-2009 at 11:43 AM. |

I dislike the taste, even of the corn-fattened Indiana ones. Drink Jager straight from the bottle, though... No arguing from me, "Different tweaks for different freaks" has long been my motto The whole "management" issue can be talked around in circles, which makes me dizzy. Sure, some starve (and are eaten by non-human scavengers), and therefore don't reproduce and leaving a smaller herd next year. Almost like a natural selection process, some might say. And finally, that was one BIGAZZ deer, fella!
