I didn't know they were making their own cars now. That thing IS nice, but I think I'd just assume take one of thier Mustangs for the $$$$$.

The S7 is a very nice car, but saleen has been notorious as of late to have absolutely terrible customer service and quality control problems with all of their cars, mainly in the bodywork and paint department. Ford is slowly taking Saleen and the other tuner-car companies out of the market by putting out comparable factory cars at 60% of the cost, starting with the 2003-2004 Cobra.

If you want S7 performance at a lower cost, ,look no further to the other car Saleen had their hand in developing: The Ford GT. If you can get one for sticker that is. Yea Right! Market price at the moment for the $135000 GT is around $250K-$310K depending on the dealer.

Nothing personal against Saleen, but their market segment is slowly slipping away, and the cars don't hold the prestige they once did, and the residuals are terrible.

For Saleen owners, don't take this thread personal. I work in the valuation field, and am also actively involved in the Mustang aftermarket, and I'm merely calling 'em as I see 'em.

I just went to the San Francisco Auto Show last night and saw the Ford GT; pretty nice, especially for the price. But what made my jaw really drop was the Porsche Carrera GT ($440K). http://www3.us.porsche.com/english/u...gt/default.htm 0-60 in 3.9 seconds will make you swallow your fillings...

Apples to Oranges, my friend. Hell, if we're making that kind of comparison, why don't we just compare it to a rocket sled: http://www.meggaflash.com/rocket%20p...flashbulbs.htm

0 to Mach 1 in 4 seconds...

lol

Mach 1 is the speed of sound which is approximately 742 mph at sea level.

I remember seeing this documentary done in the late 60's(?) where they shot off a manned rocket sled to test fighter plane ejection seats. The accelleration was so intense that the poor test pilot's eye balls had to be repositioned in their sockets. True story.
